Melina's Blocks

This is a little scary being the first to post Melina's Green blocks. It is amazing when you sort through your stash just what fabrics you discover. I love making this block and so made two of them -one with a New Zealand theme in the centre. It is a batik featuring a fern frond- I read recently how New Zealand quilts tend to include colours of the land and the sky and this is just that. Unfortunately the star doesn't show up that well although in real life it is more prominent.
Matching greens in the same block was a bit of a challenge but I like how this one turned out with Kaffe in the centre. I had to add a little bit of colour!
Melina I hope these are ok. Will be in the post this week.

  1. Wow, Marls they look awesome, I think I like the top one the best. It's more subtle but it just sparkles like a ...well...star!

  2. Marls, they are so pretty. You did a great job on these blocks. I finished mine too. I will post a photo as soon as I can get them loaded into this computer. My lap top is old and slow...it is teaching me a little patience! ug!!!
