Trees please for Sue

Hello everyone
Tomorrow morning, eleven envelopes are heading to my local post office to wing their winding ways around the world.
I hope you will have fun making little trees for me.
I’ve enclosed only the background fabric because I’d like you to use your own scraps to create the little trees, please.
You can applique, piece or embroider any kind of tree you like.
Fir tree or palm, gum tree or mighty oak, laden with fruit or
totally bare branches…..they will all have a place in my forest.
If you want to make more than two that’s ok. All will be welcome.

The only rool is please make them no taller than 6”.

I'm sending you each a WOF strip about 8.5" high, there'll be plenty if you are piecing your blocks. No need to trim the blocks when you're done. I'll be trying to line up the bottoms of all the little trees and might need some room to move.
Have lots of fun, I love wonky,  perfect,  dodgy,  straight, crooked,  classy, weird and  smooth.  You can't go wrong.

Thanks for helping my forest grow.
Hugs from Sue

  1. Looking forward to playing with some greenery AND I hear you've had a little precipitation to help them grow, exciting to have rain in your part of the world...

  2. Oh boy, I can hardly wait for the envelope! In my part of the world, our trees are getting bare! But I do have a strange sense of humor and lots of time on my hands. This sounds so fun, thanks Sue~~

  4. this will have me thinking way outside the regular box....I have always just used geometric shapes. I think this will be fun. I hope I can do it right!
I will be looking through my fabrics to see if any of them inspire me!

  5. Sue, I'm a little dizzy at the prospect of all the different kind of trees (and no Elaine, it's not the wine talking LOL).

In my cross stitch designing I've used a lot of trees, I really enjoy stitching them. I can't wait to find the perfect tree to piece for you.

  6. Oooo...I am very excited about the idea of trees! I will try to contain my weird sense of humor and not make them too weird or quirky! This should be fun!

  11. Mine arrived today....so, weird question one please:
So, you want the TREES or the BLOCKS to be no larger than 6" tall? You want them to be 6" wide as well? Like 6"x6" blocks? Oh, I have really confused myself now!

So can you please clarify for me the size of the blocks, no I won't trim them. But I need to know which you want to be 6". Thanks, moi

  12. Or is it a 6" finished block, therefore a 6 1/2 inch block with a 6 inch tree????

  15. I'm pretty sure it's the trees that shouldn't be any taller than 6", that's why we have a strip that's 8.5". Sue's on a quilting weekend (lucky girl) so we'll hear from her early in the week I think...

  16. Yikes I go away for a weekend of quilting and envelopes start being delivered to all!
Please make the TREES no higher than 6"
The block height to remain untrimmed and the width of the block will depend on the type of tree or how many you feel like putting in a row. Hope this makes it clearer. Sorry for being confusing.
    Cheers Sue

  17. I made my trees and put them in the mail today. Sue, you should be getting them soon. Well, as fast as they can get around the world soon..that is!..LOL..I hope they are ok. It was fun to do. I did not post a photo because I want you to see them first.....and if you don't them let me know and I will try again.

  18. Hi bees! I had to change the URL for my blog
the new URL for this blog is:
    http://beebeesquiltsandmore.blogspot.com/
now it matches the name of the Blog
    (Beebee's Quilts and More)

I hope everyone can still find me. The other URL was too hard for me to remember when I wanted to tell friends about it. This way the URL matches the name of the Blog.
