May and June Blocks

Swap blocks are done for both May and June.  Here are my four for Melina.  They are not sewn together, just put up next to each other on the board for the picture.  I won't cut them apart before I mail them so you can decide how you want to use them.  This was fast and easy once I cut me a 6 1/2" circle template.  (I am the worst at cutting out circles free hand)  I really like the way these look and may have to make me a black and white bull's-eye quilt.  I can't wait to see how she uses all  these blocks in her quilt.  Whether she keeps them whole or chops them up.  Also, how she incorporates the red fabric.  Melina, you will have to keep us updated on this one.

Here is my  block for Elisa.  I made it before we got the posting to use any scraps for the background and not just blue.  I pulled several blues out and once I cut them the correct size - and also figured out how to make the corner blocks - this block went together really, really fast.

I can't wait to see what everyone else has lined up for us to make the rest of this year.  I can't decide what I want to do when it's my turn, but I have until October to make up my mind since my month is November.  Do I have you make seasonal blocks or something entirely generic since I may not get them all back until the new year?  Decisions, decisions.  Are the rest of you going through this process, also?

  4. Nathalie, those are so pretty! I have had a tough week and haven't sewn anything--I got poison ivy because the stinker was wrapped around the bottom of a vine I pulled and I didn't see it until it was too late, and then George, our rescue Yorkie with the biting issue attacked me and bit me pretty badly so I made the decision to put him down. It wasn't easy. Then, when I was just trying to be nice and press crisp creases in the DH's work slacks, I noticed water on the floor that wasn't coming from the repair job we did last weekend on the toilet tank...no, it's leaking from the main floor bathrooms. Hopefully while I wait out the plumber I can get my blocks finished.

And, yes, it's really hard to decide what block to use, and I'm next!
    xxooxx to all,
    San-Dee

  7. San-Dee, wow, you are really in need of a quilt hug {{{{}}}}. With my fur babies, I know how hard that decision is, no matter the circumstances. I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with; maybe all this other life stuff will make the right block jump out at you and make your decision for you while you are otherwise focused. xxooxx to you, also.
