Finished beebee's blocks for march and they will be in the post as soon as the post office reopens tomorrow.....
they were fun to make beebee, can't wait to see it finished....
I had an email from Janet the other day asking if the blocks she had made me had arrived, of course, they had but I had just forgotten to post about it (just waiting for one more and then I can start putting it together).
I know some of you have Facebook accounts and a couple of you are already 'friends', I've created a facebook page for us so that those that want to can post info on when you've posted parcels or simple a quick hello, I've finished this block, how do you want this done..etc!!!
Here's the link

if you're happy to use Facebook and you belong to the group, just let me know and I'll add your email to the admin panel so that we can all post straight onto the page....
I've sent a couple of email invites out to those of you that are on my page...
Looking forward to your blocks Sue.....

April is nearly here
I've spent today bundling up my envelopes of fabric to send out to you all and Hooray, i've discovered the designer of my quilt. Pat Sloan designed this quilt called "Traffic Jam" and has given the pattern away on her website so it's all ok to ask you to make it for me.
Here are the instructions for 1 block:
1: sew four of the 2.5 inch squares together until you have 5 four patch blocks measuring 4.5 inches square
2: Then sew the yellow squares and 4 patch blocks together as shown.3: Note the centre row is made of three 4 patch blocks and the top and bottom rows have a yellow corner.4: Da dah, now do it again to make two 12.5 inch blocks.
Have heaps of fun with these blocks adding some of your own red, blue, aqua, pink or green fabrics.
Hugs from Sue

I'm busy cutting fabric for my blocks next month. I thought I would post a little early as it will take a couple of weeks to get to most of you. Here's a pic of the quilt I have chosen. I stole the photo from facebook and can't remember whose quilt it is so if any of you have any problem with this please let me know now before I post the fabric out and I will plan something else.

Beebee's blocks are ready to go.
I!ve just spent a lovely afternoon with the airconditioner and tv going while I put together Beebee's blocks.........now I've missed the mail so they will be sent on Monday morning when the post office opens again.
I hope i've toned the colours to suit you Beebee, most of my stash is lurid and bright but I think I've found some softer muted colours to match your pieces.
i'm next for April and i"ve made my decision. Woohoo.
Hugs Sue xx

On Their Way
Well in fact Lizzie's blocks have arrived before I posted the photo.
I found this an interesting block and thought it was easy so off to the sewing machine I went and tried to match up allthe seams and it just didn't work!!! Go back, read the instructions and they were not meant to match, so lesson learned-read instructions!!
I did the blocks as individuals rather than thinking of them as a pair and if I had given it more thought I may have matched up my squares differently to give a bit morecontrast.
I can't wait to see this finished quilt as the variations in blocks is great so i am sure it will look fantastic.
Beebee's blocks are in the post as well but have a bit further to go so i am sure will not have reached their home as yet. I was excited to be sewing a Scrappy Trip Around the World Block as I am sewing upp a top out of my scraps at the moment, and I love the randomness of it all. I thought it might be nice to include a couple of prints with a New Zealand flavour and after Beebes ok that is what I did.'
The block on the right contains two NZ prints-the shell print is the NZ Paua shell (known as Abalone in the USA). In NZ they are considered a treasure by our indigenous tribes (Maori) as both a food and the shell is used in traditional arts and crafts. The harvesting of the paua is policed so as not to descimate the resource.
Also in that block the black print has a Maori tribal design in it. You will need to click on the photo to really get a good view of the prints.
In the block on the left the bright blue fabric is representative of the colours of the paua shell in a swirling ocean design, so a little bit of New Zealand.
Hope you like them Beebee.
