Elisa's June Blocks

Hello all - I may have figured this out. I mailed my fabric and instructions on May 24th. The only thing I think I forgot is to tell ya'll that the blue areas on the blocks don't have to be made using blue fabrics. I have received Karen and Nathalie's block and I can't wait to see what the rest of you create.

May blocks for Melina

Your blocks went together really smoothly Melina and they are in the mail winging their way to you!  I am lucky to own a set of acrylic circle templates up to size 6 1/2 so the circle cutting was a snap.

I am particularly pleased with the shoes :)

Can someone bring me up to speed on June please.  If I'm received instructions for Elisa's block I've completely forgotten.  Is something coming in the mail or has she given us a link to a tutorial?

May and June Blocks

Swap blocks are done for both May and June.  Here are my four for Melina.  They are not sewn together, just put up next to each other on the board for the picture.  I won't cut them apart before I mail them so you can decide how you want to use them.  This was fast and easy once I cut me a 6 1/2" circle template.  (I am the worst at cutting out circles free hand)  I really like the way these look and may have to make me a black and white bull's-eye quilt.  I can't wait to see how she uses all  these blocks in her quilt.  Whether she keeps them whole or chops them up.  Also, how she incorporates the red fabric.  Melina, you will have to keep us updated on this one.

Here is my  block for Elisa.  I made it before we got the posting to use any scraps for the background and not just blue.  I pulled several blues out and once I cut them the correct size - and also figured out how to make the corner blocks - this block went together really, really fast.

I can't wait to see what everyone else has lined up for us to make the rest of this year.  I can't decide what I want to do when it's my turn, but I have until October to make up my mind since my month is November.  Do I have you make seasonal blocks or something entirely generic since I may not get them all back until the new year?  Decisions, decisions.  Are the rest of you going through this process, also?

Three bees. . . . . .

While Sue was here in Louisiana, I brought her to meet Elisa.
Here are the  three bees standing together in Elisa's hive.....wish you could all have been here with us.

It was so wonderful for us to meet Sue.  I am so thankful that she decided to come to Louisiana while she is touring the USA.
We had a great visit!  If any of you other "bees" want to come to New Orleans, just let me know what time to pick you up at the airport or train station!

hugs from South Louisiana
